These gloves could have been great! |
By Zack from Austin, TX
Pros: These gloves look great as soon as you pull them out of the shipping box, the pictures online don't do them justice. The gauntlet sleeve of the glove isn't too long which is exactly what I wanted. The padded palm was a really nice feature, and the lining inside of the gloves feels great. When you first put these gloves on they feel extremely comfortable.
Cons: I have only 1 bad thing to say about these gloves, and I wish this were not the case because these gloves were so close to being an awesome buy. When you put the gloves on they feel great but the moment you curl your fingers to make a fist or make the motion like you're gripping a throttle, you know something's wrong. The Force glove has what appears to be a pretty solid knuckle protection cover sewn in across the top of each glove, and the bottom part of this ... the part inside the glove that sits on your knuckles ... is completely flat. This is why you don't notice a problem when you first put the glove on, because your hand is flat. When you bend at the knuckles, though, the underside of the protector remains flat so it pulls in and puts a lot of pressure across your knuckles. I figured I'd give them a fair shot and commit to a 4 hour ride in the twisties, and I paid the price. My knuckles were sore for 2 days.
Sizing Info: Fits true to size
Additional Sizing Notes: I'm 5'8" with what I assume are average size hands and I wear right between a medium and a large with most gloves, and typically I'll go with a large to make sure I've got enough thumb room when I grip the throttle but this leaves the fingers just a tiny bit long. I got the Force gloves in large and they fit absolutely perfectly all the way around.
These gloves could have been really great, but the design of the knuckle protection makes them so uncomfortable to ride with that you really can't ride with them for any decent length of time. If you need to make a quick 15 minute ride somewhere, they would probably be alright. After the 4 hour ride I took with them, I can't imagine ever putting my hands in these gloves again. On the bright side, it gives me an excuse to shop around for a new pair of gloves. If AGV had built these gloves to conform comfortably to hand position when riding these would have been a steal.
