DG8 - Plug-In Version comes with it's own plug-in wiring harness, so there's no wires to find or solder - it plugs right into the back of your speedo/tach assembly.

Once installed, you just need to program it for your bike - either by riding or on a stand.
If your bike is not listed, there is not a plug-in solution for your bike available at this time. So you need to order the regular DG8 Digital Gear Indictor that is wired in - full instructions for all bikes are included in the package.

Pros: Works great! Very useful on the track to make sure I'm in the right gear for a corner. For street it's nice to no longer try to shift into 7th gear :)
Good customer support: The optional bike-specific "no soldering" harness I received was defective, but Acumen quickly sent me a new harness.
On my 2004 R1 there is a slight lag time (less than a second), but this is because the unit has to count tach pulses and speedo pulses over a short time period to determine the gear number. The lag doesn't bother me.

Best track investment I have made

Pros: This product was one of the best investments I have made for my bike. It was super easy to install and set up was even easier. This product takes the thought out of what gear you are in. You know what gear you need to be in for the up coming corner and the gear you are in now is plain as day. Two thumbs up on this thing. I just wish they had a plug in model for the 2007 CBR 1000RR.
Cons: Keep your manual handy. So you make sure it is still set up right after winter storage.
