Additional Sizing Notes: These things have absolutely no give in the waist. I know they look "stretchy" or elastic but they are not. If you are on the fence about your size based on waist i would strongly recommend going larger.
Great shorts and they breath really well on a hot day. I ride with these and knee pads instead of riding jeans and feel much safer with the padding then just re-enforced kevlar denim.

As advertised

Pros: It is as advertised. Pretty comfy and you could 'almost' forget you had it on. Fits nicely under jeans and would most likely fit under leathers too.
Cons: The padding is very thin and is some sort of soft foam. Don't know if you will really gain anything from this in an impact. It could be useful as added protection under leathers.
Also, it doesn't breath very well, I notice getting sweaty just under where the shorts are.
Sizing Info: Fits 1 size larger
Additional Sizing Notes: I am a 30 waist and the L was a very snug fit, so keep that in mind when ordering. Check the Alpinestars sizing chart to get an idea of their sizes.
Comments: I am toying with the idea of cutting out the foam inserts and replacing with plastic CE certified armor.

Pros: Good if you want thin padding on your undergarmets or boxer briefs to wear while riding.
Padding is very thin.
Cons: Padding is very thin.
Sizing Info: Fits true to size
Comments: These are just boxer briefs with very thin padding on them. Could wear these under anything, even tight leathers probably. Not heavy duty protection, but useful as an undergarmet.

Very comfortable

Pros: Extremely comfortable. These shorts are worn as a replacement for underwear. The fabric is soft. There are lots of thin pads around the hip area. When riding tonight, I forgot I had them on. I wore these under the Joe Rocket jeans, which are baggy, so the two worked well together.
Cons: You probably don't get a lot of impact protection from these - just a little bit. But I suspect that shorts with better impact protection are not as comfortable as these.

Pros: Good replacement for regular boxers or briefs. Can feel the extra protection on thighs.
Cons: Make sure you cut any loose threads/seams or they will scratch up your thighs which can be irritating while riding.
Additional Sizing Notes: Fits good, actually quite comfortable, but a little on the tight side.
