Pros: Absolutely waterproof. I've used the boots on my KLR and run through water holes that soaked my pants. Boots remained dry.
Boots will stay warm for the spring and fall riding seasons.
Boots are pretty comfortable to walk in. The break-in period is not that long at all.
Well made.
Cons: the sizing is very big. You can comfortably go down 1 full size, i.e. if you wear a size 11, get a 10.
the toes are a little difficult to get under the shift lever, but it didn't take long to adjust.
Boots do not have armor, so they do not protect like a "race" boot.
Sizing Info: Fits 1 size larger
Additional Sizing Notes: I'm a size 9.5 or 10. My Sidi Euro size 43 boots fit me perfectly. These boots were a size 9, Euro size: 43 and they fit good, but still just a a little bit loose.
My previous boots were Sidi Vertebrae's. 5 seasons and 80,000 miles took their toll. I looked at getting another pair of Sidi's but I really needed a waterproof boot. The Sidis are very well made and very comfortable to boot (pardon the pun). But to get a pair of Sidis in the style I wanted would have been over $300. These boots were very well recommended and half the cost.
Kneedragger's was great. They truly price matched a competitor's price, saving me a lot of money from what everyone else is charging. The make the deal even better they have free shipping and no return shipping on size exchanges. Very few other retailers offer that.
I'm very happy with the Effex boot. It seems very well made, very easy to break-in and is absolutely water-proof. I wish it had some armor, but it looks pretty sturdy.
