 Great boot for the Money

By Keith from S. Deerfield, Mass. on 08/14/2008

Pros: Absolutely waterproof. I've used the boots on my KLR and run through water holes that soaked my pants. Boots remained dry. Boots will stay warm for the spring and fall riding seasons. Boots are pretty comfortable to walk in. The break-in period is not that long at all. Well made.

Cons: the sizing is very big. You can comfortably go down 1 full size, i.e. if you wear a size 11, get a 10. the toes are a little difficult to get under the shift lever, but it didn't take long to adjust. Boots do not have armor, so they do not protect like a "race" boot.

Sizing Info: Fits 1 size larger

Additional Sizing Notes: I'm a size 9.5 or 10. My Sidi Euro size 43 boots fit me perfectly. These boots were a size 9, Euro size: 43 and they fit good, but still just a a little bit loose.

My previous boots were Sidi Vertebrae's. 5 seasons and 80,000 miles took their toll. I looked at getting another pair of Sidi's but I really needed a waterproof boot. The Sidis are very well made and very comfortable to boot (pardon the pun). But to get a pair of Sidis in the style I wanted would have been over $300. These boots were very well recommended and half the cost. Kneedragger's was great. They truly price matched a competitor's price, saving me a lot of money from what everyone else is charging. The make the deal even better they have free shipping and no return shipping on size exchanges. Very few other retailers offer that. I'm very happy with the Effex boot. It seems very well made, very easy to break-in and is absolutely water-proof. I wish it had some armor, but it looks pretty sturdy.

 Soaking Wet Feet!

By Healywheelie from Newbury Park, CA on 05/07/2008

Pros: Look nice.

Cons: These boots do not breathe!

Sizing Info: Fits 1 size larger

Comments: Not GORE TEX quality! I wore these once in 70 degree weather and returned with soaking wet feet- from sweat! Unless you only ride in the snow and freezing weather, don't get these boots!... (Read the rest of this review)

 have innersole will travel

By Al Masse from Anytown, USA on 07/31/2007

Pros: Great boot. Good protection and comfort.

Sizing Info: Other

Additional Sizing Notes: I traded a size 46 in for the size 47. The length was good, but they got wider. A good innersole took care of the problem and the boots are now a great fit.

 Solid boot for your money

By Dan Spurling from Tacoma, WA on 03/19/2007

Pros: Boot seems well built and sturdy. Very comfortable overall. Love the two velcro closures which make for a very custom fitting boot. Velcro zipper flipper a definate plus as it makes finding the zipper very easy and helps keep the zipper from sliding down.

Cons: A bit stiff when new (as mine still are) but I am sure they will soften up after a few miles/soaks

Sizing Info: Fits 1 size larger

Additional Sizing Notes: I normally wear a 12-13 shoe size but this boot required me to get a 13.5 Euro equiv.

Comments: I went into my local gear shop looking at some River Road boots and fortunately they didn't have the size and style I was looking for. I asked the guy at the shop what he would recommend as an... (Read the rest of this review)
