 Soaking Wet Feet!

By Healywheelie from Newbury Park, CA on 05/07/2008

Pros: Look nice.

Cons: These boots do not breathe!

Sizing Info: Fits 1 size larger

Not GORE TEX quality! I wore these once in 70 degree weather and returned with soaking wet feet- from sweat! Unless you only ride in the snow and freezing weather, don't get these boots! Alpinestars won't let me return them after one use and suggested better socks. These are NOT $220 boots! You may as well wear rubber boots. Gore Tex is supposed to breathe and these boots don't!!! These are too hot for April weather. I have to get new boots (again) for summer.

 have innersole will travel

By Al Masse from Anytown, USA on 07/31/2007

Pros: Great boot. Good protection and comfort.

Sizing Info: Other

Additional Sizing Notes: I traded a size 46 in for the size 47. The length was good, but they got wider. A good innersole took care of the problem and the boots are now a great fit.

 Solid boot for your money

By Dan Spurling from Tacoma, WA on 03/19/2007

Pros: Boot seems well built and sturdy. Very comfortable overall. Love the two velcro closures which make for a very custom fitting boot. Velcro zipper flipper a definate plus as it makes finding the zipper very easy and helps keep the zipper from sliding down.

Cons: A bit stiff when new (as mine still are) but I am sure they will soften up after a few miles/soaks

Sizing Info: Fits 1 size larger

Additional Sizing Notes: I normally wear a 12-13 shoe size but this boot required me to get a 13.5 Euro equiv.

Comments: I went into my local gear shop looking at some River Road boots and fortunately they didn't have the size and style I was looking for. I asked the guy at the shop what he would recommend as an... (Read the rest of this review)

 great boot for sloppy weather

By Rich from Seattle, WA on 02/06/2007

Pros: the boot is about 3/4 inch taller than the last set i got; a plus in my book. the velcro piece on the zipper tab makes it easier to locate even in gloves.

Cons: the toebox is also taller than the last set of gore-tex boots from alpinestars i had. this makes shifting on sprotbikes a little tricky since you'll lose a bit of feel that you're used to.

Sizing Info: Other

Additional Sizing Notes: the newer boots that i\'ve gotten from alpinestars seem to run a bit wider in the toebox and a smidge longer. this was my impression of the size eu40 boots

Comments: these boots are pretty stiff and will take a little time to break in. linving in seattle, i get a fair amount of opportunity to wear these in addition to my other boots so it's not a big deal for... (Read the rest of this review)
