Pros: MUCH improved back protection over the stock "packing foam" that comes in the jacket. You can feel it in the back of the jacket, but I'd compare it to wearing an empty backpack. You know its there but you'll forget pretty soon. Price can't be beat. Other back protectors are WAY more money.
Cons: Doesn't conform to the back well, but it's not designed to. It's designed to prevent spinal flexion.
Recommended upgrade, especially for the price.

Pros: Adds *some* back protection, but is a flat board really protecting your spine?
Cons: Never conforms, stays like a board on your back, makes the jacket look stupid.
Comments: I bought this almost a year ago for my alpinestars spinner jacket.
When i first bought it I noticed it was stiff but figured it would conform over time to my back. 10 months later is has not... (Read the rest of this review)
