Alpinestars Ridge Waterproof Boots

Pros: Looks really good and something you can wear off the bike. Lots of protection. feels solid. waterproof. great fit with all the velcro fasteners

Cons: starting to crack on some of the creases. not breathable, foot really sweats in hot weather. Thought it came with some ankle protection, but didn't find any.

Sizing Info: Fits true to size

Additional Sizing Notes: not sure what everyone's saying about wide foot area. felt great and comfortable

Pros: The boots are lighter than I expected them to be. At my msf course the boots really felt comfortable all through the day.

Cons: The boots do run a bit wide my foot isn't narrow it's about average width so that could be a problem for people with narrow feet.

Pros: Very comfortable. Waterproof is great. Easy to get on and off.

Cons: It took awhile to get the right size. So far they have held up well - but, I havent put on as many miles on them as the one above.

Sizing Info: Fits 1 size smaller

Additional Sizing Notes: Best if you are able to try these on first. Wide and rather big according to size.

Pros: After the breakin period, the boots were comfortable. The boots design was good. It was amazing how warm the boot heel cup would get after a ride. Really like the waterproof feature after being caught in the rain a few times.

Cons: I was a little dissappointed about how quick the interrior of the boot wore out. It was only a matter of short time that the lining wore through in the back making it difficult to put the boot on. In addition, after miles have been put on the boot, you could see extensive wear on the sole.

Comments: Despite the wear, I am going to purchase another pair due to the great fit and comfort. I am hoping that the inner lining will last longer this time.

Pros: Well constructed, nice looking boot.

Cons: The bulk of it. Maybe if I weighed 300+ they would have fit better. They were definitely wide and tall around the foot so you could move your foot in them and the boot wouldn't. Made trying them out on the bike almost dangerous. Couldn't get the left one under the shift lever and once I did I couldn't upshift unless i rolled my whole foot back. They were very stiff as well which I know is expected when new but almost to the point of walking in ski boots, and w/ the "roomy" accomodations, I don't know that you'd ever flex them enough to break them in. I hate to give A-stars a bad review as I've like some of their other products, but unless you have fairly large or swollen feet, I don't think many folks will like these boots. I like something snug, flexible and comfortable. For that reason, I'm going back to Sidi.

Additional Sizing Notes: Seemed a little larger than my average shoe size. Didn't try the smaller size to compare though.
