 Glad I Bought This Suit

By EBTM from Seattle, WA USA

Pros: Great value for the money; I don't care that it's last-year's model. Seems well constructed. Torso ventilation should be good as the weather gets warmer.

Cons: The shoulder armor is a bit uncomfortable (had to compromise in all measurement areas since I'm not built like your average racer) but I expect that to subside after the leather breaks in/stretches a little. Same with the bunching behind the knees. Wish it had metal zippers.

Sizing Info: Fits true to size

Additional Sizing Notes: I'm 5'10", 185, 36" waist, 42" chest. Euro 56 was recommended by multiple salespeople, but after trying it on, it hung like a grocery sack on me. I ordered a Euro 54. It is snug (the way it's supposed to be) and a little tight in the belly and shoulders, but all the armor lines up where it's supposed to (unlike the 56 in which the legs were too long).

The suit fits much better once I get in riding position (as expected). It actually pulls me down closer to the tank into a tuck which takes some getting used to.

 My first 1-piece suit . . . very pleased.

By Allen from Sacramento, CA

Pros: This is my first 1-piece suit. I used it this weekend for the first time at a 2-day track school. I am very pleased. I've never owned another suit, so I don't have any prior ownership and use experiences to compare it against, but I think the materials and workmanship are outstanding. I confidently recommend it, and am very glad I made the decision to buy a new 1-pc suit (as opposed to buying a 2-piece suit or a used suit).

Cons: None.

Sizing Info: Fits true to size

Additional Sizing Notes: I'm 5'9", 137 pounds (i.e. pretty slim). I followed their sizing charts and purchased a Euro 48. Height wise, I don't think it could accomodate anyone taller than me. In terms of weight/girth, it could accomodate someone with slim-to-normal body proportions.

Comments: For me, at this price, I made the right decision. There's enough things to think about, in terms of learning to ride fast on a track. Worrying about one's suit shouldn't be one of them. I had zero... (Read the rest of this review)

 Update, I CRASHED this suit.

By Anonymous from Anytown, USA

Pros: The armor is snug, does not move around, and absorbs impact well. The seams are strong, and resist tearing well. There is also more than adequate protection in the knee and shin areas.

Cons: Decent ventilation when moving down the road. However when you are stuck in traffic on a 100 degree day with the bike idling at 212 degrees, and the under tail exhaust toasting your buns it is quite uncomfortable. Although I don't think you can blame this on the suit.

Comments: Lets get to the part of the review you want to know about. I crashed in this suit during a track day on Friday the 13th. It was a very hot day in East Texas, and I was at full lean in... (Read the rest of this review)

Best suit in this price range.

By Anonymous from Anytown, USA

Pros: The first thing that I noticed when I took this suit out of the box was that is gorgeous. The pictures on the website do not even come close to doing it justice. One of the reasons I like this suit is that it is one of the few in this price range that comes with a zip in mesh liner with extra padding in the butt, hip, and thigh areas. Another Pro. of this suit is that when riding in the dark the light silver stripes, and the Alpinestars logo on the chest reflect light for added visibility. The perforations on the chest also extend onto the inner thigh, and seem to move a fair amount of air. However, I have yet to wear it on a 90+ degree day. The zippers seem strong, and the quality of this suit is exactly what you would expect from Alpinestars. Comes with knee pucks that that are secured with very strong Velcro.

Cons: Before being broken-in the suit is a little uncomfortable in the under arms, elbows, and the back of the knees. I would expect this is the case with most suits, and it goes away with a little time.

Sizing Info: Fits true to size

Additional Sizing Notes: My measurements (W/O Back Protector): 42" Chest, 35" Waist, 43" Hip, 32" Inseam, 5'9" Tall, and 170 Lbs. I ordered a Euro. Size #52 and it fits really well. Without a back protector the torso has plenty of room, and is quite comfortable. With an Alpinestars Tech Series back protector the suit fits snug, but not to an uncomfortable degree. I have not worn the suit very long, but I have already noticed that it has some stretch. I would suggest that if you are any taller, or if your chest or waist is any larger than I am that you order a Euro. Size #54. The inseam, and crotch to shoulder size of this suit fit my body type perfectly.

Comments: Don't be a "squid" buy some good gear, and wear it!

Pros: very beautiful suit the vents are nice they alow just enough air in the suit to keep u comfortable.

Cons: the knee area fit a little tight but i think once it gets worn in it will loosen up a bit

Sizing Info: Fits true to size

Additional Sizing Notes: fits very well from the waist up, waist down fits well also but tight around knees

Comments: really like the suit, feels good and rides good, good rage of motion while on the bike, and pretty comfortable rode around town with suit on went to eat and paid a few bills, suit was cool and... (Read the rest of this review)
