Dainese Super 3 Leather Jacket

Average Customer Rating:   5.0 out of 5 (based on 2 ratings)

The Super 3 Leather jacket was created for those in search of both a simple, linear style and today's most innovative technological content. The Super 3 jacket was constructed with a special technique for the application of three different materials in different areas as required. Soft, full-grain cowhide with a lightness of weight that ensures the greatest freedom of movement with elevated protective performance was used on the front, back, shoulders and arms. Other areas were reinforced with high-strength Texas twisted thread fabric, while the elastomeric inserts guarantee excellent resistance against abrasion and tear. F-K stretch fabric inserts were applied beneath the armpits and sleeves to help the jacket mould itself to the wearer's moving body for increased riding comfort. Climatic comfort benefits from two openings on the back that can be zippered open or shut and a "bubble" structure fixed liner for the most efficient aeration. removable composite protections on the shoulders and elbows and fitting for the G-Series spine protection complete the already rich outfitting of a jacket that is certain to arouse the interest of the advanced motorcycle rider.

 Love This Jacket

By Jesse from NYC on 06/12/2008

Pros: I know and love this jacket - and am buying a second one! I had an accident with the original and it saved my shoulder and arm from breaking. I hit a tunnel wall with a glancing blow at about 50mph, scraping about 15' of tunnel grime off said wall. Although the material in the body of the jacket tore in a couple of places, the armor and leather saved me from serious injury. It is stylishly understated, and breathes well in the Northeast summer temps. I will NOT ride without protection. I love this jacket!

Cons: None!

Sizing Info: Fits true to size

Additional Sizing Notes: My old jacket's labeled a 58 - hope that's the right label...

 great jacket, not too flashy

By Anonymous from Providence RI on 04/28/2008

Pros: The jacket looks great, is really well made, and seems to be flexible in mixed riding temps. The liner material is good- sort of a 3d mesh, so it can be cool or warm. The side vents really let you cool off. Protection wise it seems top notch, it has shoulder and elbow pads, and on the outside the leather covers the typical impact areas. The fabric body and inner arms is slightly elastic, combine this with the fact that it fits like a glove and it ends up being really comfortable. Unlike a lot of Dainese stuff, its not too flashy, which is nice. All in all, very nice with some good technology making it perform well. Don't overlook it.

Cons: The mesh liner is a bit scratchy, but I think this will go away once broken in (I only noticed wearing a t-shirt when I put my arms in, didn't feel through the shirt). I like having a removable liner to keep it really cool in the summer, but I haven't tested this out on a real scorcher yet. I think the mesh should do well with the side vents.

Sizing Info: Fits true to size

Additional Sizing Notes: It helped to me to have had two other dainese jackets to get the fit right.

Comments: Dainese costs a bit more, but fits better (for me) and is made really well. My old jacket did its job in a crash, so I know the protection works and they use good leather and stitching.
