Virunga D-Dry™ is undoubtedly one of D-Tec's most innovative, interesting proposals for the new Dainese AWA (All Weather Ability) Collection. The boot has a clear off-road inspiration and unites a series of innovations in a single product. The original design sole has been developed under an exclusive patent for Dainese: thanks to its double density the grey part is stiffer it optimises the grip on the pedal as well as the ground. As well as giving the boot a highly technical look, the two micrometric adjusters increase wearability and enable improved holding of the foot and calf. Comfort and freedom of movement are also ensured by the elasticated bellows on the top of the foot. Obviously, safety is of fundamental importance in the features offered by the new Virunga D-Dry TM boot. Waterproof, breathable full grain cowhide offers excellent abrasion resistance after a fall, while the composite inserts around the tibia and outer ankle bone minimise impact damage. Virunga's AWA soul is emphasised by the inner D-Dry TM lining, ensuring the breathability and impermeability of these boots.
Pros: "Lived" with the boots for Nine weeks. Wore them everyday - Shine, rain and snow - Took about two weeks to break in properly and then a dream. Still wear them today for long trips as i find them so comfy. My best Adventure boots to date.
Cons: Not fully waterproof. They will "leak" in heavy rain storms and after walking in deep water. Can get hot in desert. But again these boots took a beating and still hold on today.

fit for a king
By Tom from Oakland, CA
Pros: The boot feels substantial.
The sole is awesome, and replaceable.
Feels stiff, but is really comfortable.
Shin plate is monster good.
Good looks, and fits under my pants.
A huge improvement over my 12 year old Alpinestars
Cons: Both buckle adjusters are at their limit already (as in can't get them any tighter).
Very thin insole, but replaceable with a spenco or other
Sizing Info: Fits true to size
Additional Sizing Notes: other dainese models were tight in the toe and loose in the heel, but the virunga's fit well.
