Datatool DiGi Digital Gear Indicator

The Datatool Digital Gear Indicator (DIGI-E) is suitable for use on motorcycles equipped with an electronic speedometer and electric rev counter (that is bikes that DO NOT have rotating-core cables). The digital system relates the electronic pulses between the two and, once set up, indicates the gear ratio selected. (This means it only works when you are moving!).Comes with all fittings required. Connections MUST be soldered due to low voltages involved.

There is a different version (DIGI-C) for cable drive Speedo's like Ducatis, and many older sportbikes. (You still need to have an Electronic Tacho.)

great concept

Pros: Great tool for my riding style.

Cons: SOLDER ALL CONNECTIONS. This will save you trouble in the long run. If there is a electrical malfunction in your charging system, the product malfunctions and there is no reset.

I have had this product on 2 of my bikes and loved it. but be very careful when instaling the unit.

Pros: works as discribed very usfull for my riding style, it's a big help to know what gear you are in at a glance rather than "test shift" through the gears [saves the transmission]

Cons: you better know your way around the tools when wires are involved

Comments: i found a clever and clean instalation by soldering to the plugs rather than cutting any wires in the harness on my honda. if you carfuly remove the designated wires from the back of the plugs... (Read the rest of this review)

Datatool Digi Gear Indicator - the most cost effective accessory you can install

Pros: I installed the DiGI gear indicator about a year and a half ago on my 2006 GL1800. it was an easy install on my bike and has been fool proof since it was installed. you can laugh all you want about my wing and handling performance of this bike but it does and this gear indicator only adds to the ride.

Cons: Will not display your gear when the bike is stopped. Read the screen while coming down because you can still take off in the wrong gear if you are not careful.

Comments: I ordered this from kneedraggers on Monday and had it Wednesday - installed on Saturday. Good friendly service. nuf said.

Pros: Easy to read & computes quickly.

Cons: Takes awhile to wire up.

Comments: This is really a neat little gadget. I like knowing what gear I'm in when I'm running around in the twisties and this gear indicator do'es that quickly and accurately.
