Dunlop Qualifier Performance Radial Front Tires

Average Customer Rating:   4.5 out of 5 (based on 12 ratings)

  • Successor to the D209ZR sport radial.
  • Brings racetrack-level performance to the street with quicker handling.
  • Bigger footprints at all lean angles yield more grip and traction.
  • Use of the latest compounds allows a significant area increase in the tread pattern for improved grip.
  • The Qualifier heats up faster and is stickier than the D208ZR.

Qualifiers are STRONG on the Track...

By HondaCBF from Oshawa, Ont, CAN on 08/21/2008

Pros: I have run 2 sets on the Track only on my CBR929RR. Out of the Box, VERY Grippy at Track Speeds on both Epoxy covered tracks and Standard tracks with concrete, car-reinforcemets. Not bad on damp or wet tracks as well. When they start to let go, it is very predictable. As they get older, they may take a full lap to get to track temp. They can slip early in the day (Cool track and tires) as compared to my pals running PURE track tires (Non-street but DOT). Can run 4 or sometimes 5 track days with them (4 for Safety). Able to sell them as Scrubs for Street guys after a track season too...

Cons: No real issues. Maybe I need to be faster to find the limits?

Excellent Track day tire. Seems to wear well for me. Very grippy and predictable. Price is in-line with Other models and brands. Have no idea how they are on the street.

 Saved my butt, really!

By RacerX from San marcos, TX on 07/21/2008

Pros: These puppies really saved my backside. On two seperate occasions I over cooked a turn and knew they were going to wash out...to my surprise they held firm and I came out smelling like a rose. I have these matched up with the Dunlop Q's on the rear too. Great feed back, great traction. My only beef...just under 3,500 miles on them and they're toast. I ride the twisties very aggressively, and have spent two 4 hour track sessions on them. the back tire was gone under 2,500 miles (no burn outs either). Fronts are just now needing replacement at just under 3,500miles. Again, feedback was great, and traction was even better...no warm up time issues either. A little weaving and they're ready to grip!

Cons: Wear??? maybe I'm expecting too much from a tire? I've decided to try the Michi's for my next set and hopefully will come back and do a comparison when I've worn them out. Thanks kneedraggers, for a great product at a great price w/ even better service! You guys rock!

 Dunlop Qualifier

By Lee from British Columbia, Canada on 04/29/2008

Pros: I've ridden Dunlops for a few years and found these a huge improvement over their predecessors. Feedback and predictability of these tires were great at any lean angle. Turn in felt a little quicker too, but that could be the placebo effect of having a new set of tire. .I got a good 5000km from these tires before they were pretty shagged, which is not too bad.

Cons: I did experience a little cupping on this tire, but not bad by any means, but still there none the less.

By Maxwell from Moncks corner, SC on 09/28/2007

Pros: I have only been riding them for a few days but i am impressed thus far. They hold the rode nicely with minimum time to warm up. I put it to the test on a curve at 115 with dew and and min warmup an they held asking for more.

Cons: None Thus Far

 Dunlop Qualifier Front tire

By Anonymous from Anytown, USA on 09/27/2007

Pros: Great traction. Great feedback from the front. Great traction even in wet weather. I have had a few track days and run hard through the mountains, and work excellent for both.

Cons: Short tire life. I average a little over 2,000 miles, but I do ride hard and fast on a very heavy CBR1100XX. I change them out before they are compleatly worn out. Cheaper than a hospital visit or a wrecked bike.
