The Power Commander III USB is newly introduced in 2003 and utilizes the same "direct injector control" technology as the PCIII. The USB port provides an instant, no hassle way to connect the Power Commander module to a computer. This model also features an expansion port for add-on ignition modules.

The PC is a fuel injection and ignition timing (on some models) adjustment unit that plugs "inline" with the bikes' stock ECU. The PC uses original equipment style connectors so that no splicing or cutting of the harness is required. Most installations take less than 15 minutes, some as little as 5 minutes. Changes are made to the bikes fuel and ignition curves via the PC's onboard microprocessor.

Using this technology we are able to offer a large area of adjustment without making any permanent changes to the bikes' ECU (electronic control unit). Removing the PC returns the bike to its previous stock condition. The Power Commander can be ordered preprogrammed with a your choice of several settings, based on the modifications to your bike. The unit also comes complete with software and cable link that allows you to change between different maps or make adjustments to a map file.

The PCIII USB unit includes the 9V AC consumer power adapter. The 9v battery powered adapter is sold separately.

 I am impressed

By Fudd from Silverdale, USA

Pros: Easy installation if you have ever worked on a bike before. Impressive performance gaines right out of the box. Maps are easy to load and fun to play with. Dyno results are impressive too.

Cons: Did not have any problems with installation or software.

This really helps when installing after market exhaust and air cleaner on a fuel injected bike. Without it you are wasting your money

Worth getting if you added other aftermarket parts

Pros: Fairly easy to install and upload maps yourself. I took the bike to my dealer to use their dyno and expertise. They made two minor tweeks in the map.

Cons: The software needs to be more user friendly. It should highlight the numbers you change because it could get very confusing. Let the pros change the numbers for you.

Comments: I also have the Dynojet ignition module, Jardine slip-on exhaust and K&N air filters. I gained hp and torque throughout the curve with max gains of about 3.5 hp and 3.3 ft/lbs between 5000 and 7500... (Read the rest of this review)

Pros: Does improve throttle response Installation is a breeze but need one person to hold the tank Maps are available for pretty much every bike and mod you can think of Starts easier and no dead spots through 8,000 rpm's Gonna make corner exits much more interesting

Cons: Installs easy but only if you have two people TPS is a bear to find but it installs easy once you find it Gas is going to run everywhere when you disconnect things - be ready for it Patience is a virtue, use it when installing this mod
