These new rotors, continue to utilize a few of the primary goals on our proprietary wave rotor technology, lower operating temperatures, self cleaning action under wet conditions, lighter weights, full floating…. But the new design works on the "feel" aspect of the braking exercise, as Doug Chandler puts it, "they deliver more bite and consistency than anything I've tried with much less brake lever effort". This design allows for much more trailing a leading edge performance by having the rotor blade completely slotted from the top to the bottom diagonally and in opposite directions.
Features
Lighter then original Wave® rotors.
Self cleaning and cooling as the rotor spins.
More initial bite and leading & trailing edge friction.
New design allows for a 20% increase in braking power.
Full floating, better contact with brake pads.
Carriers are black and directional.
For race/track use only.
The ultimate in style.
Lighter than stock.
Made of High carbon content stainless steel, unique for providing a high level of friction, and a good heat dissipation.
Specifically design for high speed Racing, performing very well on the road.
Pros: I replaced my stock rear brake rotor with Galfer wave rotors for both my 2006 & 2008 GSXR-750. The Galfer is a little lighter but definitely has more stopping power than the stock disc rotor. My silver version of the Galfer rotor showed signs of rust and I am hoping the black version is a little more weather resistant.
Cons: The black Galfer version is more expensive than the silver version
