Pros: Keeps my chain smooth running and looking as it came out of the box. The clear blue color of the oil contrasts nicely with my ancient red and white FJ. (lol) Seriously though, the chain does not continuously accumulate dirt as the oil and dirt gets thrown off. I suppose I got somewhere between 6 and 8k miles on one liter of oil.
Cons: As the oil gets thrown off of the chain it gets on the rear wheel and adjacent areas. However, the dirty black oil wipes off easily, unlike the sticky type of chain lubricant that just captures dirt particles and holds them on the contact surfaces causing the rollers and sprockets to wear. The oil will sometimes drip onto the garage floor. The solution to this is a piece of cardboard placed under the bike.
Comments: The ScottOiler has worked properly for about 5 years and should continue to do so as it doesn't contain any moving parts that could wear. My drive chain has not needed adjustment since I installed... (Read the rest of this review)
