The market is full of roadrace style back protectors designed for roadracing. Since we prefer the streets to the track, we took all of the coverage that your average back protector provides, increased it two-fold, and threw in some Icon style. The result - true upper torso coverage for the urban environment. Try it on, check out the low profile fit and the secure form fitting chassis thats built to stay in place, and youll be a convert.
Pros: As with most ICON products it is a great investment. I generally throw it on when I'm taking short trips across town and it is really hot out. Gives me piece of mind and ventilation when I don't feel like throwing on the leather jacket. Very comfortable.
Cons: Unfortunately I am writing this review because there are a few things that bother me about the vest. The first is that the tail end of the back of the vest sometimes gets caught in the back of my unbelted pants when I stand up from a seat. Not that big of a deal but annoying. My true gripe, and second problem is that ICON decided to make the bottom part of the vest attach via velcro and not with buttons or straps. This wasn't a problem at first when the velcro was brand new but after 2 years of regular use (and realistically I'm not on the bike as often as I'd like) the velcro as worn out pretty well. It takes some serious effort to keep the bottom vest flap to stay velcroed and is extremely annoying if it comes loose while driving. Not only is this unsafe (I wouldn't want my protection sliding up and/or off if I go down) but it also flaps around in the wind. You must come to a complete stop to resecure the vest if this happens as it is tough to look down and take both hands to fix.

Awesome product for the Texas heat!

Pros: Awesome protection all around. I feel safe to ride down the road once I strap it on.
Cons: Only one problem I have with the sizing. I am a skinny guy and not so tall and the regular is a little big on me. ICON needs to come out with a small for less than average guys like me.

Great vest!!

Pros: Easy to take on and off. Makes you feel very secure as far as protection. Extremely low profile, can't even tell its on with a jacket over it. Looks awesome solo, but would recommend Icon's elbow pads in conjunction. Can't go wrong with this vest of you're looking for extra protection or protection for hotter weathers.
Cons: Lack of color choices. Would be absolutely perfect if you could get different colors. As far as the product, can't think of anything bad about it.

Additional Sizing Notes: fits kinda weird of you're smaller and have a backpack on. It has adjustable shoulder and waist straps that make it easy to fit on anyone, any size.
