Like the stampeding hoofs of a thousand horses, the chain rained down. Relentless, methodical. The hand, clad in black layered leather and riveted titanium plates, worked it's brutal magic. At once ethereally united with the chain, yet somehow distant. Clearly it had purpose, blow after well placed blow would attest to that, yet it lacked any sense of conscious or remorse. This was not personal, not like it had been before, this had become routine-a task to be accomplished, a check box on a to-do list. Clearly this hand, this glove, had done this before, and clearly it would do it again. A different time, a different place, same result. The TiMax Original Glove by Icon-A Legacy of Brutality.

 Proven handsavers

By Alex from Tennessee

Pros: A week after I got these gloves, I had my first wreck, a 35mph low-side in Memphis. My legs were scraped up because I only had jeans on, and my wrist gouged by my watch breaking off, but my hands were absolutely fine. Not even sore from the impact. The elastic was lightly frayed in places and I knocked two of the beads off the palm, but the glove is otherwise fine. With my original fabric gloves, I highly doubt I would have gotten off so lightly. Besides, these gloves look *so* good.

Cons: On the left hand, the knuckle armor has a tendency to pinch against my index finger uncomfortably. I also wish it came in gauntlet form.

Sizing Info: Fits true to size

Additional Sizing Notes: These gloves require a lot of break-in time. I suggest you wear them around the house for a while before you use them on your bike. Fit was fine for me.

By Jonathan from Chicago, IL

Pros: Armored! Thick. Nasty (but in a good way); these are just a few words to describe the gloves. Haven't wrecked with them on but I can totally see how these would hold up WAY better than any of the cheaper (non leather type) gloves.

Cons: You can feel the inside leather where it has been stitched. Not really a problem but they could get in the way for women who have longer finger nails. They make you want to reach out and punch something. And thats a bad thing. Fairly pricey too.

Sizing Info: Fits true to size

Comments: I suggest getting used to your bike's friction zone and front braking first. These gloves are thick and they might be a tad bit harder for new riders to sort of "get the feel" of their bike. They... (Read the rest of this review)

Look cool, but comfort is lacking

By Anonymous from Anytown, USA

Pros: These gloves offer tons of protection, and look pretty cool too.

Cons: They don't fit right, and not very comfortable either. The XL gloves I got in had a way too large wrist area and very short fingers. I don't like the wrist strap being that loose as the glove could be ripped off in an accident. Also, the finger tips are not very well made. they have big chunks of leather hanging out on the inside of each finger tip that would probably kill your hands on a long ride. They reminded me of leather work gloves.

Sizing Info: Fits 1 size smaller

Additional Sizing Notes: I normally wear XL gloves. In these the wrist was way too wide, and my fingers were crammed all the way to the end of the glove. 1 size larger maybe would fit, but the wrist would get even larger.
