I purchased this when I purchased my jacket, because as someone who's grown up around the medical field I know that accidents happen. I would strongly advise others to purchase this at the same time that they purchase the jacket so that both items arrive together and they can ride immediately with the extra protection. I think we all need to accept that what we do is for obvious reasons more dangerous than other activities and that anything you can do that can help your safety should be done. I'm giving this item a 4 because of the fit and seemingly quality construction, but I have not tested it in a wreck.
