Radial design with two 75° plies bound by longitudinal zero-degree crown-ply.
Casing promotes comfort, durability and consistent handling under changing conditions.
Constructed of a versatile rubber mix with 100% silica reinforcing fillers which help combat premature tire wear and reduce internal friction and excessive heat.
Progressive, stable handling from semi-elliptic tire profile.
Tread pattern wears evenly and provides superb traction in wet weather.
Tapered grooves channel water away from contact patch.
Pros: My last set of tires were Metzlers... Over the years they have kept me upright in some hot conditions ... I dont like spending money on plastic or paint so it was hard to take a chance on the Pilot Road but after going through 2 rears in 8,000 miles on my CBR954 it was time to start askin for a simple solution ... The Pilot Road was pithched to me at a local cycle shop as being not so great when it comes to sticky but if its miles your lookin for they fit the bill ... I have over 8,000 miles on the Pilot road rear and still have rubber left but the rain is comin down now and that water groove is gettin pretty thin ta count on so its time for another ...
Cons: When it gets wet the Pilot Road doesnt like ta get sticky so watch those left handers over cross walk stripes ... I thought I was gonna loose it and had to pull over ta check my shorts ... No Damage though

8500 miles!
By George from Anytown, USA
Pros: Checked my records and my Roads have 8538 miles in just under 2 years-incredible! This includes 6+ track days. Getting ready to order new rubber and was considering switching brands but I don't think so! Well, maybe the new Road2 with the dual compound tread. They're supposed to be even better but haven't seen them anywhere except the Michelin website! All around excellent tire in wet & dry.
