  • This tool is versatile enough to be used on cam chains to drive chains.
  • It will break chains from #35 to #630. For chain 520 and up, it is recommended to grind the rivet head.
  • Each kit includes 3 pin sizes to fit most chains.
  • The body bolt and body have been improved and strengthened to meet the standards of chains made these days.
  • This kit is recommended for light- to medium-duty use.
  • Replacement pins & tips available separately.

Motion Pro Chain breaker and tip breaker

By Teresa from North East, USA

Pros: I found the tool easy to use and the instructions easy enough to follow. Storage box that it comes with is small enough to carry along with you on rides if you suspect you will have problems. Make sure you grind off the pins on your old chain before using the chain breaker.

Cons: The rivet tool bits are NOT made of strong metal and can break easily. I have used other styles of rivet tools and they are made of hardened steel and will bend before they would ever break. Not the case with these bits which left me disappointed in this product. I broke two bits and now I have to order the replacements for $6.25 each. I used the tool correctly. Crappy metal tips suck.

Pros: Replacement bit works fine so far.

Comments: Original bit broke relatively easily. It was my fault for not quite getting it lined up correctly but still frustrating.

Pros: I have done 2 chains with this tool so far, where I removed a 530 and installed a 520. Works well I have never had a problem with the riveting. You will need to file down the pins on a 530 chain before splitting it with this tool but its a pretty easy job.

 Almost perfect tool...

By Vincent from Upland , CA

Pros: Disassembles for easy storage and comes with its own case, different size pins for almost every chain type, good combination of chain breaker, press and riveting tool.

Cons: While using the tool the back plate needs to be more secure when pressed up against the rivets as I had to continually realign it while using the press. Also while using the rivet tool, the back plate was allowing the rivets to be pushed through instead of halting movement.
