Great bags for the price! |
By Mark from Manassas, VA on 05/21/2008
Pros: Great price, and the bags look good on just about any bike. Enough room to be really useful for items like a rain suit or a gallon of milk from the store. These bags really increase the usefulness of a bike without resorting to a backpack. They installed easy enough, though I did have to move my rear turn signals back a few inches for the right fit. (They are post-mounted so it was easy.)
Cons: Not waterproof, but the covers are acceptable. I find some water pooling in the bottom of the cover after it rains; but they do a fair job of keeping everything dry. I couldn't get them to install under my seat as the velcro straps are thick and wide. (There are two of them.) It might work on other bikes but not mine. Not a deal breaker, but something to be aware of. My passenger has to sit on top of the straps if I take a second rider.
I am very pleased with these bags. With gas prices rising I wanted to commute on my bike more this season, and these bags make it much easier to handle all the "stuff" that gets taken back and forth. They look good on the bike, are easily removed or transfered to another bike etc. The plastic insert that keeps each bag "formed" works well, though one of mine is about three inches too long, so I just fold it over and it still works fine. No problems with heat, but I have a good five or six inches of clearance above the pipe. (The instructions say you only need a couple inches!) Glad I got them. This was my first order from KneeDraggers.com and I am very pleased with them. They provided shipping confirmation and online tracking info so I knew exactly when the box arrived.
