Great Options, Not so hot on the visibility |
By Drew from Winston salem, NC on 05/06/2008
Pros: I give this system some serious kudos for the custom molded fit. When they say no cutting is nessacary, believe it. They fit my R6 like a...well you get the idea. They were pretty damn easy to install and the options for the flash settings were really easy to figure out. Make sure you leave enough wire if you choose the strobe choice to go back and change it back to something else later if you want. Don't just cut off all the excess. Also, the fact the they act as running lights/marker lights too is really nice. I did a lot of research and am pretty happy with my choice.
Cons: I think the only con is the TRUE visibility when you are out on the road. For those of us who are smart enough to realize that we are invisiable enough as it is, these don't do much help at night to actually increase visibility to the other drivers. When I installed the lights, I was in a closed garage and they lite up the place like crazy but when I actually got out on to the road, I was a little disappointed with how quickly they faded out of sight at a distance of about 10 or 20 feet. I was kind of hoping for a little bit more light. You have to blind some people to make sure they see you. I am sure some of you guys know exactly what I mean.
Overall, I would buy them again but I think that $65.00-$75.00 is a little bit more reasonable of a price. I had a little bit of trouble parting with $100 just for two lights. On the plus side, for those interested in cosmetics and smooth appreances, these are the absolute best flush mounts that I have ever seen. Unreal how they mount up and look once they are installed.
