Pros: Dramatic increase in feel and chassis control, both on track and street. Properly setup, does not sacrifice a great amount of comfort for the added control, making it a good upgrade for a streetbike that will be run on the track.
Cons: Expensive. Mods to install permanently change damper rods (significant if you want to keep the kit but sell the bike; new rods must be installed to return to stock damping). Sensitive to fork oil viscosity.
I bought my 2000 SV650 used as a former trackday bike, and outfitted it with proper street equipment so it could be used for both comfortably. At a recent trackday, the bike railed with the correct setup and DOTs, something very dangerous with stock damping, while being compliant enough for the street. The last owner used 20W with a track-only setup, which was far too stiff in damping; a change to 15W made it nearly perfect for the track, and only a bit stiff over the largest, squarest bumps on the street.
Instructions are a bit confusing (or it was for me), but a buddy and I managed to get it right. The kit does not provide for any external adjustment, so any changes require disassembly. Nonetheless, impressive gain in performance over the stock suspension; worth it to do if you have a stock damper-rodded streetbike, and a trackday coming up.
