 Adequate for the price

By Knowplay from Louisiana

Pros: Great launch and straight line traction. Tire seems to warm-up fairly fast. Wears well for a softer compound radial tire. Price is definitely a factor when considering this tire. Lot's of bang-for-the-buck. Not easily affected by road obstacles such as potholes, railroad tracks and so on.

Cons: Not a wet weather tire AT ALL. Living in Louisiana, rain showers can hit at any minute. This tire gets some what slippery with almost any moisture on the ground due to it's limited tread/rain grooves. Flat profile limits the ability of this tire on lean-in and sportriding. On anything more than a moderate curve, tire tends to want to slip or push out.

Not many tires can offer quite the value as this for the AVERAGE rider. If you sport ride or do weekends at the track, look elsewhere. I believe the value, good wear characteristics, and straight line traction overshadow the wet weather and sport limitations of this tire. I'm an older rider that will only ride sportbikes and I commute on my bike daily(weather permitting). This tire has been so far a good value for me as long as I don't try to play in the curves too much. So for the daily driver in dry weather, this tire is more than adequate. BUT, for riders that do much sportriding or any track days, you definitely will not be happy with this one.

 squid tire

By Anonymous from Anytown, USA

Pros: excellent hookup for drag racing. extremely soft compound... good life. its profile is for a large flat contact patch good for take-offs

Cons: profile makes it terrible in the turns and worthless on the track. if you push it through the turns you will feel the front tire slide and you will not be able to pull the bike over very far. takes a long time to warm this tire up also.

Comments: the front tire is definitely the weakest link... while it may be comparing apples to oranges i feel the OEM tires felt MUCH better than this. you get what you pay for. this tire seems to be... (Read the rest of this review)

 Finally A Sticky Tire

By Dana from Jacksonville, Florida

Pros: Drag race a Harley in Street class. 18" sticky street tires are unheard of until now. Got the 003 Stealth Shinko tire on the bike, went drag racing last weekend and turned in my best 60',1/8 and 1/4 ET's and best 1/4 mph. What a difference from the stock street Dunlops and Metzelers.

 Super Sticky Buns!

By Zack from Livermore, CA

Pros: The buns appear to be medium/soft grade type of rubber. In the dry, these buns have performed excellent. Either leaned over in turns, on the freeway, or on the street, these tires are confidence inspiring (except in the wet).

Cons: In the wet, these tires were not so great to say the least. Even once I got them all warm and toasty, traction felt very loose. Perhaps their limited tread pattern was responsible for the loose grip behavior in the wet. Who knows? I felt itâ??s worth mentioning, light drizzle rain apparently didnâ??t affect the traction very much. Just donâ??t go mach-3 everywhere if you know what I mean.

Comments: In closing, I still decided to give these tires 5 stars. Iâ??m a starving college student, and for the money, these buns are the best deal in-townâ?¦hands down!
