Pros: -Visor removal system second to none.
-Vents very well.
-Lightweight.
Cons: -Liner not fully removable.
-Fairly loud at speed without earplugs.

I bought this helmet based upon the many reviews online and Shoei's reputation for quality. Since delivery, I haven't been disappointed by the purchase. When unboxing, the first thing I noticed was the lightweight. I was further pleased to find that the helmet came standard with an effective and substantial breath-guard (but without the visor cracked slightly at a standstill it still fogs fairly easily in colder weather or when it's quite humid), also standard is a chin wind curtain that seals out incoming air nicely (it makes one feel more "in a bubble" whilst riding, helps concentration on long journeys). On the highway there is little buffeting; that fact coupled with the lightweight dramatically decrease neck/general fatigue on long stints on the superslab.
The visor system is top-notch and intuitive, plus replacement visors (dk. smoke, high-def. yellow, etc.) are relatively inexpensive when compared to the same options from competitors like Arai, AGV, and Soumy. The venting is simple but highly effective, especially in the more forward position of a sport bike. The vents themselves are easily operated with gloved hands, but the chin and exhaust vent-tabs are perhaps a little flimsy.
Noise levels are tolerable at city-speeds, but very loud on the highway or with open throttle on the backroads (I'd suggest emphatically that earplugs be worn).
All that being said, the overall package is attractive-fit and finish are quality all around and for my purposes (commuting, weekend canyon carver) the RF1000 serves me to my expectations. Kudos Shoei!
Additionally, the service from Kneedraggers was very good...I originally ordered the helmet with a jacket. The jacket was subsequently found to be discontinued, the same day I ordered I received an email to that effect. I called KD to therefore modify my order, the rep. was courteous and helpful in the process--with standard shipping I received the helmet two days later (probably because it was shipped from California. Nice.).
