Sidi Vertigo Boots

Average Customer Rating:   5.0 out of 5 (based on 22 ratings)

The Vertigo series of boots are the only boots to offer a patented adjustable calf system designed to accommodate calves of virtually any size. With a simple adjustment of the Tecno VR knob, the internal monofilament line will close and wrap the boot around the riders calf in micro adjustments for a perfect fit.

Every Vertigo boot's outer is fully constructed with Lorica, a composite micro fiber material that acts like natural leather skin, but is stronger, softer, lighter and offers better moisture protection. Lorica is also highly resistant to abrasion – yet it still breathes. Lorica doesn't stain and can't be scratched, and it delivers more flexibility and more feel than leather racing boots.

On the inside, each Vertigo boot is lined throughout with lightweight perforated Teflon treated fabric in order to allow moisture to "breathe" out to the Lorica outer and dry quickly with no mold build up in the long term.

Every Vertigo boot features a snap-lock vent panel, located on the outside of the foot so riders can choose the maximum airflow setting. Riders can send air rushing inside the boot or close the vent to enjoy a sealed, airtight and watertight boot.

The Vertigo's revolutionary three stage, shock absorbing heel cup is molded with three different densities of plastic. This system, another first in motorcycle boot technology, offers a built in shock absorbing range of three millimeters. The heel cups internal area is fully lined with impact resistant thousand-air cell memory foam for an extra level of comfort and protection.

The shifter pad on the Vertigo boot is molded of DuPont Techno-polymers, which ensure that the plastics qualities will not change in high or low temperatures. The same pad is used on the right boot, to assist riders who's riding style includes tucking their foot under the brake pedal. A new dual compound, non-slip sole was designed for the Vertigo boots. It delivers maximum comfort and safety.

All bolt on components of the Vertigo boot are available separately. Riders can change the various components to replace items that have worn or have been damaged in a crash. The Vertigo uses bolt on (no Velcro!) replaceable, adjustable and aerodynamic nylon/ceramic skid pads on the toe. The shin deflector plate is the only replaceable deflector plate available in racing today. The Vertigo Corsa (same boot, but with an added strap over the front of the foot) was awarded the Motorcyclist Magazine "Best New Product" Award for 2004!

 crash-tested these boots

By Anonymous on 06/02/2008

Pros: crashed in these boots, feet are perfect. toe-dragging at in-city speeds at in-city curves without being wreckless you will drag your toes at times. in these boots you have amazing confidence in your footwear. best boots ever MORE comfortable than some of my non-riding shoes haha. its crazy ive worn these for 6 hours at a time sometimes you forget they are there. sometimes one toe will get a little sore but its rare ive only noticed it once. look great. you can have raceboot type protection without looking like a power-ranger.

Cons: heel is a little tight at size 11 for me and is a touch loose at size 11.5

best boots ever. good price (compared to in local shops especially) great fit, great comfort. but best of all great protection. you have no idea how much your confidence grows when youre wearing these as opposed to runners. VERY commonm injury in highsides is SMASHED to smitherenes heels. Wont happen with these. saw a guy who had his ankle torn off from another biker passing him. wouldnt happen in these. super crazy high end boots with a good price. my point? buy these boots they pwndizzle.

 Great, for hard-to-fit feet

By Bill H from Connecticut, USA on 06/01/2008

Pros: I can't believe these actually fit me, and are comfortable "to boot". I have wide feet (EEE), with a high instep and arch, what they call a high-volume foot. I always have trouble getting shoes and boots that fit. THESE BOOTS FIT ME! Even with the rigid toe box and attached skid plate, my feet are not being crushed or pressured at all, and I even have room to wiggle my toes. No "hot spots" or pinching either, which is also a pleasant surprise. Not only comfortable on the foot, but I have very large calf muscles as well. At the top of the boot's cuff, my legs measure 17.5". These are the only sport riding/track boots I have been able to fit into at all, and I am thrilled. The adjustable calf feature of this boot is great. I have even been able to get them zipped up over leather riding pants, although that is a bit tight right now -- I expect they will loosen up a little bit as I wear them in over time. I have only had these for two days now!

Cons: Probably a bit too aggressive for "casual" around-town use, and not made for walking around in. Superior function and protection however for serious sporting or sport touring use, and right at home on the racetrack. These were not engineered to be waterproof for hours on end on the highway, which was not a purchase factor for me anyway.

Sizing Info: Fits true to size

Comments: Quality of construction and design features are state-of-the-art. They fit my mutant proportions, and look great. They fit true-to-size: I am a US 10 (EEE), and I ordered these in the Euro 44 size.... (Read the rest of this review)

Pros: Great construction awesome fit provides great feel for riding

Cons: none

Comments: I've had Sidis before and I'll keep buying them. The boots work well in average weather but I might recommend the "Air" version for hotter climates... I'm almost wishing I had gotten the "Airs".... (Read the rest of this review)

 Sidi Boots

By oh6gsxr from Germany on 05/25/2008

Pros: These are my first riding boots and all I can say is, I wish I would have done this sooner. These boots fit great. I have only worn them twice so far and I am really impressed. They canceled out all the vibrations from the pegs. I also walked around in them quite a bit too with no trouble. So weather you are going to the track or just going to pick up a movie at the store don't hesitate to put these on.

Cons: I like my boots to fit a little tighter so I bought some extra thick socks. Did the trick.

Sizing Info: Fits true to size

Additional Sizing Notes: I wear between a 9 and 10 US and these are just right.

Comments: Highly recommended and worth the price.
