Average Customer Rating: 4.0 out of 5 (based on 4 ratings)
    Good Value |
By Anonymous from Anytown, USA
Pros: Great value, Comfortable, its quieter than my last helmet so I can't comment on the noise issues others have. I always ride with ear plugs anyways.
Cons: Fogs up pretty readily, If you ride in cold areas this may not be the one for you.
Sizing Info: Fits 1 size larger
Additional Sizing Notes: I read it runs large so, after taking my head measurements, which matched to a Large on the chart provided by Sparx, I bought a Medium. The medium fits but I can tell will be a little big when it breaks in. If you can, try one on at a bike shop before buying one online, wish I did. If not, definitely buy a size smaller than you measure for. You can always exchange if its too small... But it probably wont be.

    Great looking helmet |
By Anonymous from Northern Virginia
Pros: great look. sleek. simple and toned down a bit from the usual helmet designs
eye brow vents seem like a cool idea but havent concluded on how much ventilation it actually provides ( its still cold around here)
visor::: good clarity, i like all the detents, that allow several different visor postions (5 or six i think) pulling down and opening the visor feels pretty stiff, which i like because i know its not flimsy and going to move around
Cons: Matte black...i guess matte black really only means a non reflective sorta flat black color, but i thought matte black would "feel" different. ive seen other helmets that are matte black, and they felt sorta like a rubbery? surface, but the sparx matte black is just a smooth non reflective black.
Shell size!!!! okay, one of the reasons i wanted a sparx helmet was because i heard from other reviews that they were generally smaller than the average bulky looking helmet. that the look was more slim and narrow, not so round and well..huge.
this might be true for the smaller sizes like sm and med, but the large is...large. Its about the same size as my hjc size large, IF NOT bigger.
Visor:::: visor tab is pretty small. P, but because the tab is smaller than usual it actual makes it harder to open and close the visor, Good seal though when it is closed.
Sizing Info: Fits true to size
Additional Sizing Notes: I wear a Large in HJC sizing, large fit great with the Sparx. The sparx model was actually a little bit tighter than my large hjc, but the cheeks are still wearing in, material feels great.

Pros: for the price u cant beat it, the cheek pads are extra thick and it gives good air flow when riding.
Cons: the helmet is very noisey over 35 mph, the face shield fogs up very easily.
Sizing Info: Fits 1 size larger
Additional Sizing Notes: once u break the helmet in it fits big.
Comments: the helmet has an overall good safety rating, if u can deal with the wind noise its worth the money.

    Spar-X SO-7 street helmet ReviewPosted: Mon Mar 17, 2008 7:10 pm |
By Lee Indy from Montana
Pros: Low price- 109 for the standard color schemes and 130 for the S.E. designs w/ free dark smoke visor.
E.C.E 22.05 and DOT safety ratings.
 Finish is consistent and seamless.
Visor vents flow a good amount of air with out hiting you in the eye.
6 visor detents. I have an HJC with only two and that is annoying.
Moves a good amount of air threw the static vents.
Clean profile. Im not a fan of the Icon bulgy helmets.
Comfortable. For a helmet in this price range its actually outstanding.
Light weight. The only helmets lighter than this one is a couple very rare helmets and the
Shark line of racing helmets
Doesnt fog very often. The chin vent flows quite a bit of air onto the inner part of the
shield and at light I just had to barely crack the lip to keep it from fogging.
SparX is the only company to offer a crash replacement plan. If you crash in this helmet
send it back and a copy of the police report thell replace your helmet
Cons: Bad Points
Noisy. At high speeds with the visor vents open it whistles a little bit. Id recommend ear
plugs for high way speed trips.
The visor has a tiny tab for lifting that is often difficult to move. Im sure it will break in a
little better but it is really tiny.
At the very top of the visor it appears to be tapered a little so the top 1/8th of an inch
gives a bit of a distortion so at full tuck its a slightly distracting.
Chin strap is set to far back for my tastes and the little snap for the extra bit of strap is
half way up into the liner a bit making it impossible to snap with gloves on.
The liner is a little bit of a pain to put back in after you pull it but patience is the key.
Sizing Info: Fits true to size
Additional Sizing Notes: fits near the same as an hjc. i wear a large in hjc but an xl in kbc. the sparx i wear is a large
Comments: Overall I think that this is the best helmet in the sub 200 dollar range. Light Comfortable and ECE 22.05 certified. And with the backing of the long time helmet maker KBC there here to stay.
