The technology used in the Back Warrior is based upon the construction of highly shock absorbent cells made of light composite materials. The result is a CE certification, with an average shock absorbing value of 9 Kilo Newton.
During shock absorbing tests for this kind of protector a maximum of 18KN is allowed to pass through to the rider, The Spidi Back Warrior eclipses this standard with a result of 7.8KN!
Exceptionally light, thin and comfortable the Back Warrior is a tangible demonstration that improving comfort greatly helps safety because the protector makes riding easier and thus allows the rider to concentrate better. Plus, the air channels and the internal mesh allow a high transpiring factor, about 50% more than Spidi's competitors. The Back Warrior weighs a svelte one and a quarter (1.25) pounds, again about half of our competitors.
Ergonomics also received a vast amount of attention. A double strap system, multiple sizes and two different designs for men and women guarantee a custom fit for riders from 4'6" to 6' 5" tall, thus preventing the protector from interfering with the fit of jackets and other clothing items.
Pros: Fits nicely in between liner and Spidi Basic Black Leather Jacket. Lower back Velcro straps offer comfortable back support in addition to the protection. Does not feel awkward at all.
Cons: See sizing comments. May be a bit long for those 5'8" and shorter.
Sizing Info: Fits true to size
Additional Sizing Notes: I'm in between 5'8" and 5'9". The 5'7" to 5'11" sized version sticks out a bit at the bottom of my jacket. If you prefer to snap your jacket to your pants, this piece may get in the way. It does not stick out at all at the top.
