2 months and it is falling apart!

By Craig from Yelm, WA on 08/26/2008

Pros: Very flexible in terms of conditions that this coat is designed for. You can use it all year long.... in theory.

Cons: If this coat could last a whole year you could use it all year long. After 1 month and 2 weeks of riding this coat has began to fall apart. On the right shoulder the seem separated 5 inches and now that it is two weeks later it is up to 6 inches. Other threading holding the seems together on this coat are beginning to fray. Keep in mind this coat has never been through a washing and nor has it had any kind of accident. This is just under normal use.

Sizing Info: Fits true to size

Being that this is a warranty issue I used the Tourmaster website twice to contact the company and heard nothing back. So I contacted my original retail store whom has tried to contact them 3 times and heard nothing. So much for customer service as well. [KneeDraggers comments: not to be an ass, but too bad you didn't get the jacket here. We have very good relations with Tour Master, and they are always very good about their warranty work. I don't understand how the place you bought it from couldn't get in touch with them.]

 Very Adaptable Jacket

By Bren Bailey from Clemmons, NC on 05/30/2008

Pros: The Flex jacket might just let me ride all four seasons here in central NC. The jacket's three separate layers allow for maximum flexibility. I have already enjoyed the wholly mesh core jacket at temperatures in the high 80s behind the tall and wide windshield of my touring cruiser. With temperatures in the mid-60s, riding my other windshieldless cruiser, I experienced total comfort with the windbreaking outer shell zipped on. Although I haven't had the opportunity to try it in the cold, I expect comfort well down into the 40s with the full quilted liner installed.

Cons: Perhaps it's just my fat old fingers, but I have trouble with the five zippers required to fasten the outer shell, especially those at the end of the sleeves. Keeping the zippers from snagging nearby material makes installation a 10-minute task.

Sizing Info: Fits true to size

Additional Sizing Notes: Although this jacket fit true to size with the thermal liner installed, with the liner removed, the fit is just a tad loose, but certainly not one full size.

Comments: If there is an all-in-one riding jacket, this is it. The core jacket provides maximum ventilation for the warmest days as well as armoring at critical areas. The outer shell provides good wind... (Read the rest of this review)

 Solid Jacket with Great Options

By Anonymous from Anytown, USA on 02/05/2008

Pros: Nicely and easily converts into a mesh jacket for warm days, throw in the linear and add on the outside shell and it projects well and is great for cold weather.

Cons: Zippers are a pain in the butt! Converting this from full mesh to full coverage takes about 15 minutes. But it is well worth it.

Sizing Info: Fits 1 size smaller

Additional Sizing Notes: I am typically inbetween a Large and an XL jacket (6', 190 pounds). I went with the Xl and am glad I did! In truth, I probably could have gone with a XXL and it would have fit a little big. But the XL fits nicely, but a little short.
