 THE PUCK CAME OFF!!!

By Joe from Georgia on 05/30/2008

Pros: These frame sliders were simple to install. It took only a few minutes. Cutting the fairing was easy with a uni-bit, and I expanded the hole with a rotary tool sanding drum. After having a crash, I'm glad I didn't opt for the no-cut sliders.

Cons: The slider puck came off when I crashed, so my fairing got all torn up. It simply pulled off of the washer and bolt, leaving the bolt and washer there. I had torqued it properly. I'm wishing that I had opted for the Woodcraft sliders that have a screw that holds the puck, and with a base that is "within" the puck not just at the base of the puck. Perhaps because I was sliding in the grass that was the problem. These would work to protect from a tip-over, but not from a slide like mine.
