Xena Disc Locks - XN15

Pros: Great product! The most heavy-duty lock I've found to date.

Cons: The siren could definitely be louder with different outlets for the sound. Placing a hand over the the single sound outlet muffles the sound almost complete.

Pros: very thick material, high quality

Cons: not as loud as I thought, not as sensitive as everyone claims

Comments: Not a bad deal, but no one will take the alarm serious here in NYC, but at least it should help a little (basically its like the "Club" for the car, they'll take it if they want it.

Pros: Works exactly as described. Alarm is VERY loud, solid construction. FAST shipping from Kneedraggers.com

Cons: none really, its expensive but not compared to how expensive my bike is (esp. to me), so its worth the peace of mind in my opinion.

Pros: The XN15 is heavy-duty. I lost an XN14 model a few weeks ago by simply setting it down while I was talking and driving away. My fault entirely, but I had been impressed enough with the line to replace it with another Xena. 14mm locking bolt, loud alarm. Overall a great product.

Cons: The painted yellow and red finish options are highly visible on your brake disc, which is a good thing. The paint finishes are easy to chip, which is not a good thing. Keep an eye on it, and oil or repaint any nicks you find in the paint job. The XN15 is substantially larger than the XN14, which was apparently discontinued when I tried to replace it. The size difference is enough to cause a tight squeeze between my disc and my wheel. It's also heavy, about a pound and a quarter. That doesn't sound like much until you throw it into a backpack or leave it loose in a tank bag with a spare helmet visor. I've also had a number of false alarms with the XN15. It seems to be sensing the settling of the compression and tires after I dismount the bike that the XN14 did not detect. I don't know whether to call that a good thing or a bad thing; I don't sleep directly above the parking garage!
