When I first started looking for a full faced helmet I was letting the price be the motivating factor. I then began to ask myself how stupid was my attitude, this is my head protection in case of another accident, cost of the helmet shouldn't even come into play in my decision. After all I have no problem dropping 5 or 600 dollars on a set of forks or engine parts. So I Googled Motorcycle Helmet reviews. After finding some published articles from a couple of popular motorcycle magazine's I found after independent testing that I didn't have to spend 4 or 500 dollars on a quality helmet. The Z1R performed as good or better then it's more expensive counter parts in almost all of the DOT, SNELL and M2000 test . According to the article DOT-only helmets from Z1R delivered less average G force to the head form through all the impacts than any others in the test. Hats off to Z1R, for their performance in the testing lab. Being a serious motorcycle accident survivor from the past I hope I never have to find out if this new Z1R helmet truly does perform on the street as well as they did in the lab. Great helmet for under 150 bucks.
