When it comes to helmets, it is what's inside that counts. Inside the Viper you will find an advanced hand-laid fiberglass composite shell that provides exceptional strength and light weight. The Viper weighs in at a trim 1630 grams, yet performs like a chiseled heavyweight. Add the Dual-Density Styrene Liner, and the genuine CoolMax interior and you have one serious performer. Of course we didn't want to keep all the beauty below the surface, so we included a lustrous base coat and a UV protectant clear coat for an incredible finish.
Features
Advanced, hand-laid fiberglass composite shell delivers exceptional strength with light weight; helmet weighs just 1630g.
Intake and exhaust ports efficiently channel heat away.
Pros: The ventaltion seems to work pretty good so far. The side vents are easy to open with gloves on. Fairly light weight.
Cons: A bit more wind noise than my Icon helmet but this is probably due to the lighter weight fiberglass shell.
Sizing Info: Fits true to size
Additional Sizing Notes: It fit pretty tight at first, especially around the cheeks (on my face dork) but after about 2 weeks of use, it felt pretty confortable.
I've been using an Icon Mainframe/Hooligan helmet for the last couple of years and I like this Z1R helmet better. At half (or more) the price, it's a really good deal. The top vents flow under the main shell of the helmet. This was a real plus because the crappy glue-on vents that sit on top of the Icon helmet tend to break very easily. Even at 100+mph, the face shield and vents stay in place. A friend recommended this brand after doing a lot on on-line research and I have to agree that this is a great helmet at a pretty reasonable price.
