Pros: No Turbulence, Great Shield Mechanics, Decent AIr Flow,
Cons: Chin strap is a little too close to the neck,
Chin bar sticks out a little too far in front
Sizing Info: Fits true to size
Firstly, I have an oval shaped head. I am 100% certain this dictates much of my likes and dislikes for this lid.
I only have 1 other lid to compare this too (Shoei RF1000). IMO, the Shoei is very loud (booming from neck area at speed), while the HJC is much quieter. I really dislike loudness, so the HJC is my preferred lid between the two. This is interesting, as it seems my ears are closer to being exposed in the HJC and more air flows through it in general. It is much better for warm weather. In cold weather, it lets way too much air through.
The HJC has absolutely no wind turbulence... it slices through the wind in tuck or upright position.
The shield is very easy to take off and put back on.
No complaints on the lining.. it seems to be good material.
I don't like how the chin bar on the HJC sticks out so far in front of my face. It seems like it impedes my vision when I am looking at my cluster... and just gives the "fish bowl" effect overall. In comparison, the Shoei is very compact... my nose actually touches the inside. In this regard, I prefer the Shoei.
The HJC chin strap also is on the verge of being uncomfortably close to my neck.
Summary - the HJC is great for warm weather, has very minimal turbulence, is quiet (in comparison to my other lid). Only thing I don't like is the size of the shell overall.
